Green star keeper pixie

Postby Linda Ehrenfried on Fri Apr 23, 2010 5:48 pm

Hi, I have another new piece to share. I am finally over my winter blues and I have some energy again. WOO hOOO. Her is the first of several star keepers I am making for fairy fest in May. They will come with a stand like you see here only it will have a different base. She is 7 inches in her current pose, head to toe. She would be 8" it standing. She has really long pointy shoes so the pose didn't make her much shorter. LOl I actually had all but written her off as no good when my daughter came up with the striped stocking idea. and the rest happened as I was painting her. She lind of told me what she wanted to look like. I hope you like her. She will get real eye lashes later on. Her hair is real Badger fur.(DOn't ask, My hubby found it.)

Morphing a ball of clay and wire into something beautiful is magical. It puts a bright light in my heart to see what my otherwise clumsy hands have created.

Linda, I REALLY like her a lot! I love the color choices, her painted stockings, and her badger hair too! I just love her hairdo! I really like that overdress costume that you used. Love how it looks. I swear, there are days I wish I were filthy rich and not a starving artist. hahaahaaa I'd give her a home without blinking an eye lash!

Hugs,
Lori

Te hee hee. I am so glad you girls like her. I found all those fabric bits in my earthy fabrics drawer. She totally chose all the colors herself. LOL I took her to the flea market with me today and even though her base isn't made yet, I sold her. Yay. I know right. Appearantly green and earthy work. I have a request for another one in similar colors and I can pose and scultp her however I want. I actually didn't want to see her so I told the lady $125.00 for her and she was like OK. I told her I hadn't done the base yet and she said, "That's Ok, Can I pay you now and pick it up when your done.?" So that quick she is gone. Cool. I can see a new series of pieces coming up. LOL I have an entire box of those stars. All different colors. Now I have to think al earthy instead of crazy colors. More Froud influence going on here. I need the sale too. It was a really slow day at the flea today. So selling her helps.

Awww she is quite the little cute fairy. ^^ I think your right the earthy colors are charming. I'm so glad she sold to fast. Just another testament to how good she is. :) She kind of looks like she could be part of a series or set.
