High upon a pedestal

Postby essie on Wed Mar 24, 2010 2:44 am

Hi all, don't know if you remember me but I'm Essie
I'm so sorry for not posting, it's such a crazy, busy time for me lately, but I've read everything here.
For now I'm trying to better my life so here's my latest piece, I will understand when you're not responding to my post lol

This is the second figure of my 7 deadly sins: (Pride/Vanity).
Her torso is placed on a pedestal (like all pride/vain people want) and a picture of herself is in the frame (vain people can't get enough of them self)

This piece is in Rococo style: Rococo is a style of 18th century French art and interior design.

16 x 16 x 18 cm
6.3 x 6.3 x 7.1 inch

The first 7 deadly sin I made was Pleasure (Lust) a fetish bondage figure, see last pic.

CCCCOOOOOOOLLLL those are awesome. Your work is always so unique. I'd love a look inside your mind. I think I'd find the Mad Hatter having tea in there with the Red Queen on a platter in the center of the long table, like a roasted pig. LOL Very cool. Hugs, Linda
Morphing a ball of clay and wire into something beautiful is magical. It puts a bright light in my heart to see what my otherwise clumsy hands have created.

I love both pieces soooo much! What a great topic!

Essie,

I have missed your sweet face here! This new one of the series is perfect! I love the Rococo period; it's art was some of the best out there. Her costuming is very suiting and her hair style says it all. FANTASTIC! I love the display base and I am crazy about the series theme you have chosen. Wonderful! <3

Hugs,
Lori

Thank you so much girls.
Boy did I miss you all.
I hope I will have some more time and rest after my Dabida exhibition on April 11th.

Kim: the base is made of apoxie and altered miniature ornaments.

Hugs all.
