I have no Idea of her pose or who will she be. I was going to start a halloween fairy some time ago, but my food processor broke just when I started... and I got frustrated with it and didn't want to mix clay at all LOL. Now I finally did. Off to make the armature now.

LOL I mean I couldn't decide what pose she will have. Now I FINALLY got her in her pose and just going to mix Aves for it. My Dremel charger is broken and my other drill wasn't working properly so I got difficulties cutting the brass tube. I was a bit pissed today. But I'll start sculpting her body tomorrow. :D

Yeah Moon, I hate it when machines break. Argh! We had crappy electricity (something called 0-power?) after the storm in July, and it broke quite a few machines before we got adviced to cut the power off. :( But I bought a new charger for my Dremel today, found it from German eBay, yey!

Here is a crappy pic of her state now, nothing much to see, but her pose. LOL Her right hand will be resting on her knee.

She's going to be lovely. I wish I could manage to make my hands with wired fingers. I just can not get it to work right for me no matter what I have done. Perhaps I'm using wire that is just too thick I don't know. But I admire those that can manage it for their dolls. I can't wait to see her finished, Anna-Mari, I know she is going to be wonderful. <3

Progress! I managed to sculpt her entirely for one bake, and that is rare for me, hehe. I left the head off untill I had almost everything else done, to avoid raw clay contact on the baked clay... that caused a bit of problems with her shoulders and neck, but I got them done nicely after all. I had planned the work totally wrong, I should have left her left arm bendable too, it was REALLY difficult to sculpt that left hand of hers! And then her neck. Ack. But there she is, waiting (in boredom, it seems...) for sanding.

We had school semester week here, and then my car broke and I have had to drive back and forth and all kinds of stuff for that, and there is a doll exhibition coming, that I was helping to build etc... that's why this is taking sooooo long. But I think you have got used to that with me. LMAO

Anna-Mari, she is stunning and so life-like. Amazing! It never bothers me with how long it might take for your projects to be completed; as long as I get to see them once they are. :-) I'll be watching for the grand finale. :-)

Very very beautiful work, Anna-Mari. These closed poses can be very difficult... I did a pose similar to this one and it drove me almost crazy because I didn't thought it out right before I started.
Take your time, she will be beautiful, as all your work is. And good luck with the exhibition. Don't forget to show pics :-D

Thank you. :) Next time I will think good and hard how to build up a pose closed like that... LOL

The exhibition opening was tonight and it was great, lots of people and I had a good time chatting with quite a few of them. The exhibition is so lovely, I didn't take pics yet, I will got here when there is not so many people and take pics. There are only few pieces of me, two of my first (ack) and Pihla, and an angel and two totally different kind of fairies. Next exhibition from Finnish Doll Society will start on December, and I have promised to make one piece for that, it will be a mermaid. It will be a ten year -celebration exhibition of the Society.

I'm glad the opening of the exhibition went well! I will look forward to seeing pictures of all the wonderful pieces in the show. I am certain you will do well. I will also be looking forward to your mermaid piece for the Finnish show. That will be wonderful too! Enjoy the show, Anna-Mari. :-) <3 <3

Lori

Stuck stuck stuck. Why I cannot move on with her?? I have painted her but I feel like she still needs something... can't decide what, she's not telling me, and I have tried this and that and then I decide nooo no more painting.. I have been doing that for many days back and forth with her. Frustrating!

Sorry you just have to wait. I was going to get her finished by Sunday for auction but we will see if it will happen. Sigh. And I should start the mermaid for the show If I was going to get HER done in time. LOL

Her face... she looks totally different painted and with hair than I expected. LOL But it was a nice suprice. Still lots to do, and there is something I am going to add in the piece and it will take some time, so it will take a few days until she is finished. Now I am making her wings.

Anna-Mari, she has turned out absolutely gorgeous. She looks like she can breath she is that realistic. Her hair is stunning and so natural. And, you know what else...I so wish I could do eyelashes like that. I just can NOT get eyelashes to work for me. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. :( I envy your eyelashes. <3 She's stunning and I can not wait to see her in her entirety.

OMG Lori I so agree with you about eyelashes. I wish someone would show us lol. I have tried and tried and have often ended up spoiling the eyes because of them. I think my eyesight and a shaky hand don't help either.

You have no idea how many times I have considered having my eyes checked because I can not see how to place one little piece of hair at a time with a pair of tweezers. I have gone cross-eyed putting on goopey eyelashes to no avail. Truthfully, I have come quite accustomed to looking at my pixie folk with no eyelashes. muahahahaaha

Oh yes, Nadiia it is... very very beautiful... I mean both of them, Nadia and your new fairy.
That must be quite a magnifier glass you are working with to do the eye lashes and even the eye brows! As the most here I always have problems with the eye lashes.
Very beautiful work and I can't wait to see what you are going to add to her :P

Thank you so much!

I have a magnifier lamp, it is a must when attaching lashes! I am having problems with my eyesight, that's why I haven't been sculpting so much lately... because I hate the fact I am not seeing as well as I used to. It has been going on for year or two, and it is really frustrating! I Finally got glasses for my working a couple weeks ago and they help a lot, but I see only very close with them, looking for tools on the table is a bit blurry. LOL And I have to change my regular glasses on when I am looking for something on the shelves etc. But it is better now with them anyway. I just need to get used to them. Also I am planning to get some kind of good magnifier glasses... just don't know where to buy them, I want to try them before buying, so internet is not my first option.

Well done:)
What paints are you useing
And have you put a gloss on her as she looks abit shiney
and were do you get your plinths

sorry for all the questions:)

well done

I don't use gloss, the clay and the paint just happens to get a bit shiny when I bake. I don't really know why but I like it a lot. :) I use Genesis heat-set paints. Plints are driftwood that I collect from lake nearby...

Yes, I know what you mean about the changing eyesight issues, Anna-Mari. I'm there with you on that one...over the last couple of years to be exact. I need to invest in a good magnifying glass that I can use on the table top that will allow me to keep my hands free. I think this is why I hate doing eyelashes. If my eye sight was not so poor when it came to those tiny things, I might enjoy it a little more. haha <3 All I can say, is just know you are not alone in that boat. :-)

Yours are the only ones that do that to me. But I was able to click on your blog and see her. Also your website link on your banner will not load for me either. grrr I get a page not found error. But at least I can go to your blog and see you beautiful work!
