El Hijo de la Luna I WON in the JULY IADR Contest !

Hello there this is my new WIP, I'll tell you later about this Spanish Legend, by now here's the baby, the Moon (as a woman) and a Moon chair, hope you like them, you can see the baby's size I'm concerning in having him bald (no hair at all) what do you guys think about it? It suppose to be a blonde white baby ...

It is hard for me to work with this heat!! more than 90 here in Southern California wow
But at least I was getting some stuff of the craft store to complete the Moon gown, I want it to look really gorgeous.

So guys now I need your help I try to translate this history from a Spanish Urban Legend, hope everything is fine, but for the ones who know English very well I'll appreciate any correction or suggestion for a better looking history, here it go:

It counts the legend that a gypsy woman pray out to the Moon until the coming of sunrise, crying she ask for the day she could found and married a man. “You’ll will have your man a dark skin man"; answer from heaven Silver Full Moon, "but in exchange I want the first son you’ll beard him” I don’t need a child, reply the gypsy woman, what I pursuit it’s a husband so let it be. By the next morning Gypsy woman was married to a Gypsy man, with the time she conceive and give birth a child.

"The Moon wants to be a Mom, but she can't find a lover that can make her a woman; Oh Tell me Silver Moon... What are you going to do with a human flesh child? Oh Silver Moon, Silver Moon"

From a Gypsy father there was born this child, white as the coat of an ermine, with grey eyes instead of dark olive… The baby that comes from the Moon … Curse should be his race; this is a white man’s son! This cannot be hide.
Gypsy man was sure that he has been betrayed. He went to his wife with a knife on hands, “who’s this child from? this is a dishonor!!!” and he deadly hurt her, then he went down the mountains with the baby on his arms and there he left him alone…
In the nights when there is a full Moon it’s because the baby is in a good mood, but if the baby cry there will be a crescent Moon to make him a cradle…

I'm gonna have to digest this story a little and reread it a few times. It's a very somber story, but the underlying message to me is to be careful what you wish for or something to that affect. *shrug*

is about the mechano song really?? hijo de la luna . i´m not sure if it´s a real legend or just a beautiful sad song , i asked for my hubby and he don´t know if exist a real legend with this story , anyway , is my favorite spanish song ..
it´s like a lullaby .. really pretty !

It's just a plain silk fabric

I add the flowers, also sequins and beads one by one sewing it, such a hard job...

Eneida, I love that spanish song...."hijo de la luna". I heard it some place on a tutorial I was watching one day, and I loved it. I do not know all the words (my spanish is not that good). I can only pick out bits and pieces of the lyrics, but it is a beautiful song.

, but I also google the history and find quiet a few kind of fables tales related, but yeah pretty sure is mostly based on the song I should highlight on that. Umm and I can see that song is even popular here hehe

Thanks in general for all your comments I still working on the Moon's outfit , she'll also have a gorgeous crown and jewelry, I just concerning about the hair... umm I was going to use silver viscose, I don't know maybe It can be a dark hair color uh?

I like the dark hair color idea. It would provide a nice contrast I think. Also, my thought is, if you are going along a spanish fairy tale/legend, seems to me you would want to give her hispanic type of features. And, too, since the tale comes across with a sinister twist, dark hair might be appropriate. ?? Just my thoughts. :-)

For the Moon I just realized that I dont have any black tibetan lamb

. I was going to take Lori advise about the hair, but still I found some pieces of blue and there it go, she looks good in blue, the silver one will be so pale in this scene.

I think the blue will be just fine, it will still add a nice off set to color. The silver, like you said, would probably be washed out do to a some what pale color scene. I simply can't wait to see this finished. It is already beautiful as it is. The final will be outstanding.

I think she is beautiful, and her blue locks are just right. I really like the crown and her necklace helps to tie her hair color together with her outfit. Nice touch there. :-D

Those links were great, Noemi! I really enjoyed the 2 different versions. One the more tradtional sound, and the other a more modern sound. I liked the video for the modern...it kind of tells the story for those of us without the latin tongue. :nah:

And, I liked the back drop for the traditional version too, it keeps the mysticism in the story. And, ofcourse, since they were all there, I enjoyed a few other versions too. :crazy:

So what if I listened to the song about 8 times! LOL :loony:
